Dental implants are devices placed in the mouth that act as artificial tooth roots, providing a permanent foundation for fixed teeth. Compared to dentures, bridges, and crowns, dental implants are an effective and permanent solution for people who have lost teeth, have defective teeth, or suffer from chronic oral problems. Because they fit, feel, and function like natural teeth, dental implants are quickly becoming the gold standard for replacing missing teeth.
Mentoplasty Mentoplasty, or chin surgery, is a cosmetic procedure that corrects the position of the chin in relation to the jaw, maxilla, or face. The chin is the bone at the front of the jaw, which can be genetically or due to various causes, resulting in a deformity such as excess, deficiency, lateral displacement, lack of projection, etc.
How is the deficiency corrected? The ideal procedure to correct a chin deficiency is mentoplasty, a very simple procedure performed in an operating room, in which the bone and soft tissues (or chin area) are advanced; typically without the need for silicone implants or foreign injections that can cause many adverse reactions.
Cheek implants or cheek augmentation Cheek augmentation surgery is typically performed on faces whose features, viewed from the side, lack projection and three-dimensionality. The cheekbones appear flat and give the face a tired look.
Cheek implants are a safe and permanent way to enhance a person’s facial features. They can create better balance of facial features and profile by creating more prominent cheekbones.
Bichectomy Bichectomy, or cheek reduction, is a facial cosmetic surgery that involves removing part of the buccal fat pad located deep in the face, below the cheekbone. This simple procedure involves removing the buccal fat pad, a fatty structure situated between the cheekbone and the jawbone.
It is generally performed under local anesthesia in a maxillofacial surgery office’s procedure room. The result is a more prominent facial bone structure, creating a slimmer and more sculpted face.
